Mr Hu was excellent in handling my case. He explained my case clearly and succinctly with (very important) results provided whilst I was there. The staff (Stephanie & lady for peripheral test) and the four check ups I required in the same morning were handled very professionally and efficiently despite there being a full waiting room. I would absolutely recommend this service and staff to anybody who requires testing for their eyes. Excellent all round....

Referred by an optician for more a more thorough eye test I attended Victoria Infirmary where all staff were polite, friendly and efficient. The consultation with Mr Hu was a positive experience, as he went through the test results, listened to and probed into my condition, symptoms and family history. He then made a series of examinations with my eyes, ever conscious of any discomfort explaining the purpose of each action. As a consequence I am happy to share my experience, especially for those concerned with taking this type of examination as was my case.

I escorted my 79 yr old relative to a referral to Mr Hu by the optician. After going into a couple of side rooms with nurses to take eye photos and apply drops, we were then in the consultation room with Mr Hu for around 10 minutes. During this time his manner was excellent, he was reassuringly thorough and professional and explained simply what may have caused the referral. We were already aware of small calcium deposits (apparently normal, or relatively common) and the start of a small cataract, neither of which are effecting vision. Other than the above, his findings today were clear but to make sure, we will now await an appointment for a scan to confirm, and further to this a follow up appointment with him in 12 months. If nothing has changed then.. discharged!

We have just got home having taken my mum (aged 85) for her second check-up following a cornea transplant which was completed by Mr Hu. Throughout this stressful time for my mum and the family, Mr Hu has always been very professional, giving the upmost care to his patient at all times whilst keeping ourselves updated. His manner with patients is excellent, and we have had total confidence in him from start to finish. Given that the operation has been successful, my mum have been given a new lease of life. As a family we cannot be more grateful to Mr Hu and his team and we would have no hesitation in recommending him. He is a credit to his profession. Keep up the great work.
